• Journaling: A Life Adventure

    This class will focus on the art of Journaling. Join Michael Woodruff, Woodruff Media, for insights on the many aspects one should consider when beginning a journal: book type, formatting, voice, style, and design. We’ll discuss the benefits and “pitfalls” of keeping a daily life-log and gain inspiration from historical and contemporary Journalism. By the end of the course, you will have an informed journaling plan that has the potential to open doors in ways never imagined.

  • Sketchbook Power

    Wednesdays, May 8, 15, 22, 29

    $10 per class

    May 8: We learn about the power of keeping a sketchbook, and start our journey into mixed media by preparing some pages for our mixed media creations and start sketching. (pencils and provided reference material).

    May 15: We explore ways to use different media to finish our sketches from Class One, playing with lines, patterns, and texture. (Ink pens, gel pens, acrylic markers and provided reference material).

    May 22: This time, we sketch on white paper and experiment with adding color to our work both before and after the initial sketch. (colored pencils, markers, crayons, or acrylic markers. and provided reference material) .

    May 29: Let’s delve into wet media in sketchbooks (yes, it’s possible). Watercolor, gouache, or acrylics can work in a sketchbook (even oils). Let’s paint! (Watercolor, acrylics, and provided reference material).

    Bring your own sketchbook and we provide all other supplies.
