Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, and that is what has happened to CAE.

We received a call from one of our patrons who lost a loved one and had art supplies to donate to the center.

I loaded up my car with the supplies she had to donate. We began to visit about Alice Boatright and how she loved the art center and creating her own art.

Jane Kennedy looked toward Alice’s studio and asked if I would like to see it. As we walked in, Jane mentioned how she wished she could use the space to honor her life time friend and as a result, the art center was blessed with a Guest House.

We have had several donations and volunteer work hours that have made the space into a very cozy retreat. If you would like to help complete the furnishing of the guest house listed below are some items that are needed:

• Turquoise & chocolate brown towel bath sets or gift card to JC Penney/Kohls

• Baker’s rack (new or used used)

• Small dressing table and night stand (new or used)

• Gift card(s) to Lowes or Yeagers for materials to build artist’s work table

Most of the artists using the guest house are part of the Art in Education program in the Van Buren elementary schools.
