BITS
N PIECES PUPPET THEATRE VISITS VAN BUREN
The Bits N Pieces Puppet
Theatre from Tampa, FL came to visit the Van Buren
1st grade students in November. The workshop brought
much excitement to each of the schools as students
learned about puppets from all over the world.
First grade students made their own puppet and put
on a performance of "Millions and Millions
of Cats." Then all 1st grade and 2nd grade
students traveled to the Fine Arts Center to see
the 9 ft. puppets and other actors perform "Alice
In Wonderland."

GUEST HOUSE
Blessings
come in all shapes and sizes and that is what has
happened to CAE. We received a call from one of
our patrons who lost a loved one and had art supplies
to donate to the center. I loaded up my car with
the supplies she had to donate. We began to visit
about Alice Boatright and how she loved the art
center and creating her own art. Jane Kennedy looked
toward Alice’s studio and asked if I would
like to see it. As we walked in, Jane mentioned
how she wished she could use the space to honor
her life time friend and as a result, the art center
was blessed with a Guest House.
We have had several donations and volunteer work
hours that have made the space into a very cozy
retreat. If you would like to help complete the
furnishing of the guest house listed below are some
items that are needed:
• Turquoise & chocolate brown towel bath
sets or gift card to JC Penney/Kohls
• Baker’s rack - used
• Small dressing table and night stand - used
• Gift card: Lowes/Yeager Ace - for materials
to build artist’s work table.
Most of the artists using the guest house are part
of the Art in Education program in the Van Buren
elementary schools.
